Overview

Packaging Corporation of America is seeking a Process Control Engineer for their Riverville Paper Mill in Gladstone, Virginia. This role involves coordinating the planning, organizing, programming, and maintenance of all mill PLC, Distributed, and Quality Control Systems, while managing a team of technicians and supporting maintenance and capital projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning and maintenance of PLC and control systems
  • Manage a team of hourly union technicians for programming needs
  • Provide technical direction and solutions to maintenance personnel
  • Support scheduled maintenance outages and projects within process control engineering
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance and capital projects for control systems
  • Utilize predictive maintenance programs to identify equipment issues
  • Develop equipment manuals and documentation for control systems
  • Manage assigned work for monthly and annual outages

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience in Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and AutoCAD
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Strong planning and follow-up skills
