Overview

Mueller Christensen LLP is seeking a skilled Probate Paralegal to support its attorneys and clients through the probate administration process and trust litigation. This role offers hybrid flexibility, allowing for both in-person and remote work while contributing to important legal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Draft and file probate judicial council forms, petitions, inventories, and accountings.
  • Assist clients in gathering and managing information about decedent's assets and debts.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between beneficiaries, creditors, and court personnel.
  • Assist in distributing assets to beneficiaries.
  • Track critical deadlines across multiple matters.
  • Conduct legal research related to trust laws and case law.
  • Prepare motions, supporting papers, and pleadings for trust litigation cases.
  • Keep case files organized and indexed.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and keep them informed.
  • Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits.

Required skills

  • 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal in California probate administration and/or trust litigation.
  • Knowledge of California Probate Code and court filing procedures for Los Angeles and/or Orange County.
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple active matters and meet deadlines.
