Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join their Tucson, AZ location, focusing on missile programs as a Software Systems engineer. The role involves managing software requirements and integration, providing technical oversight, and working closely with various engineering disciplines to ensure system reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Update and maintain system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software and test systems software
  • Conduct trade studies and present results to customers
  • Serve as a technical contributor for verification and validation efforts
  • Collaborate with Systems, Software, Configurable Logic, and Test teams on program technical tasks
  • Participate in technical conversations with customers
  • Mentor and guide new team members using core Systems Engineering skills

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience
  • Experience in Systems Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of Requirements Development and Requirements Management
  • Experience with Agile framework development methods
  • Proficiency in Matlab, C, C#, C++, Python
  • Experience with DOORS and cPDM
  • Ability to perform trade studies for system optimization
  • Experience in integration with test equipment and telemetry data analysis tools
