Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join their Tucson, AZ location within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) organization. This role involves supporting missile programs as a software-focused systems engineer, ensuring successful software requirements and integration for various missile systems. The position requires a high technical proficiency in embedded software design and collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines.

Key responsibilities

  • Update and maintain system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software and test systems software
  • Model the system development and production processes using Cameo
  • Conduct Trade Studies and present results to customers
  • Provide technical oversight during integration and test activities
  • Participate in verification and validation efforts for the system
  • Collaborate with Systems, Software, Configurable Logic and Test teams
  • Mentor and onboard new team members
  • Act as a primary systems engineer for software-centric program capabilities

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
  • Experience in Systems Engineering
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Requirements Development and Management
  • Integration and Test for software products
  • Agile framework development methods
  • Technical risk assessment and mitigation
  • Experience with performance analysis
  • Familiarity with DOORS, cPDM, Azure DevOps
  • Proficiency in Matlab, C, C#, C++, Python
  • Ability to perform trade studies
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
  • Experience in integration lab or test facility
  • Technical documentation generation
