Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join their Tucson, AZ team, focusing on software systems for missile programs. This role emphasizes the integration and testing of software, requiring collaboration with multi-disciplines to ensure effective solutions for mission-critical systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Update and maintain system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software and test systems software.
  • Model system development and production processes using Cameo.
  • Conduct Trade Studies and present results to customers.
  • Participate as a technical contributor in verification and validation efforts.
  • Work closely with Systems, Software, Configurable Logic, and Test teams.
  • Engage in technical conversations with customers.
  • Mentor and guide new team members using core Systems Engineering skills.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Requirements Development, and Integration and Test for software
  • Proficiency in Agile development methods.
  • Experience with performance analysis, DOORS, and cPDM.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps tools.
  • Programming skills in Matlab, C, C#, C++, and Python.
  • Ability to perform trade studies and technical documentation generation.
  • Familiarity with system safety, reliability, and configuration management.
