Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Principal RF Engineer in Tucson, Arizona to develop RF subsystems for missile guidance systems. The role involves the design and maintenance of RF architectures, requiring a strong background in hardware assessment, integration, and test within a collaborative environment focused on innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate hardware designs, subsystems, and components
  • Architect new electronic systems
  • Develop and document subsystem requirements and test plans
  • Conduct peer reviews of designs as a subject matter expert
  • Present findings to peers, management, and government customers
  • Conduct root-cause failure investigations
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Support multiple programs and manage cross-functional teams

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with electrical hardware development
  • Skills in subsystem and systems engineering
  • Experience in developing RF electrical subsystems
  • Knowledge of missile radar and RF seeker subsystems
  • Experience with mixed signal electronics
  • Familiarity with DoD/DoW hardware development process
  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
