Job Description

Overview

As a Principal R&D Engineer at Hoerbiger, you will play a pivotal role in advancing mechanical solutions by transforming scientific insights into high-performance products. Your focus will be on leading R&D projects and driving innovation in tribology-based technologies while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead R&D projects to develop innovative products and technologies
  • Explore emerging technologies through research and experimental validation
  • Design solutions at the component, subsystem, and system level
  • Plan and execute testing programs, including life and validation testing
  • Analyze data and solve problems using simulation and experimental results
  • Act as technical lead by managing risks and mentoring colleagues

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least five years of experience in R&D and industrial environments
  • Preferred experience in 3D printing
  • Knowledge of tribology
  • Analytical thinking for data interpretation
  • Program and Project Management skills
  • Collaboration skills across teams
  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical topics
