Overview

As a Principal R&D Engineer at Hoerbiger, you will shape the future of advanced mechanical solutions by turning scientific insights into high-performance products, particularly in tribology-based technologies. You will lead R&D projects, innovate through research and experimentation, and collaborate closely with various teams to ensure the development of reliable and efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead R&D projects by developing innovative products and technologies.
  • Explore emerging technologies through structured research and experimental validation.
  • Design robust solutions focusing on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Plan and execute testing through the design of test programs and performing validation testing.
  • Analyze data and solve problems using simulation and root-cause methodologies.
  • Act as technical lead managing risks and mentoring colleagues.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of product development experience in R&D and industrial environments
  • 3D printing experience
  • Knowledge of tribology through education or hands-on application
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Program and project management skills
  • Collaboration and communication skills
