Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Program Protection Engineer to join their Software Product Assurance Center in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. This role involves employing Agile methodologies in the development of embedded software solutions that support military capabilities. The candidate will be integral in software and firmware design, system integration, and testing, collaborating closely with systems engineering and subcontractors to ensure overall system integrity.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy critical capabilities to the warfighter using Agile development techniques
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded software solutions
  • Support the generation and decomposition of requirements for software development
  • Collaborate with systems engineering for design concept and architectural documentation
  • Participate in Technical Integration Meetings with subcontractors
  • Apply embedded principles to the design and development of hardened software applications
  • Ensure consistency across teams and address impediments proactively

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fi
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development
  • Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments
  • Proficient in C and C++ programming
  • Experience with real-time embedded solutions and multithreaded applications
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and Linux Kernel modifications
  • Knowledge of building and maintaining code bases using CMake and Google Test
  • Experience with version control systems like Git or Subversion
  • Understanding of modern computer architectures, including x86 and ARM
  • Experience with RTOS systems and Linux device drivers
