Overview

The Principal, NGS Laboratory Implementation & Operations at Exact Sciences is responsible for ensuring the operational readiness and successful implementation of NGS assays within a commercial laboratory. This role involves translating development outputs into scalable and reliable laboratory processes while collaborating with various departments to enable efficient deployment of NGS workflows.

Key responsibilities

  • Define operational requirements and ensure NGS assays are designed for commercial implementation.
  • Lead the transition of assays from development into clinical laboratory workflows.
  • Collaborate with leadership to integrate new assays into existing systems and processes.
  • Identify operational gaps, capacity constraints, and process inefficiencies, implementing solutions.
  • Provide operational oversight during early production to ensure assay performance and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating operational learnings into future assays.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality requirements.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 12 years of experience in molecular diagnostics, NGS, or clinical laboratory operations.
  • Experience operationalizing and scaling assays in clinical or commercial settings.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Knowledge of NGS workflows and regulatory environments (e.g., CAP/CLIA).
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies and workflow optimization.
