Overview

4AllPromos is seeking a Principal Drupal Engineer to enhance its e-commerce platform using Drupal. This senior role involves collaborating with various teams to improve the technical architecture and overseeing the migration from a legacy system to a modern Drupal-based solution.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CTO, engineering team, and business stakeholders to prioritize the technical backlog.
  • Translate business goals into clear engineering work in partnership with various stakeholders.
  • Drive a consistent code review process to enhance quality and maintainability.
  • Shape the architecture and technical direction of the Drupal-based e-commerce platform.
  • Develop and maintain custom Drupal modules and integrations.
  • Support the migration to a modern Drupal architecture.
  • Optimize platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Apply secure development practices across various workflows.
  • Integrate AI-assisted development tools while ensuring code quality.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance through code reviews and discussions.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the full stack.
  • Stay updated with Drupal and modern engineering practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems.

Required skills

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Deep expertise with Drupal 8 through 11
  • Strong PHP skills, object-oriented design, and Symfony components
  • Experience with SQL, preferably MariaDB/MySQL
  • Familiarity with Git-based development and CI/CD workflows
  • Understanding of web security principles and OWASP risks
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools
  • Strong front-end skills in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in both technical and business contexts
