Overview

Concentric Energy Advisors is looking for a Principal Consultant and Lead Expert Witness specializing in FERC ratemaking and regulatory matters for electric and gas pipelines. This leadership role, located in Washington, DC, involves overseeing complex regulatory and litigation support engagements while serving as a trusted advisor to utility leadership and legal counsel.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and review FERC cost-of-service and rate design analyses
  • Advise clients on rate and compliance filings before FERC
  • Evaluate cost recovery issues and financial methodologies
  • Serve as lead expert witness in FERC proceedings
  • Prepare and defend written testimony and exhibits
  • Support litigation strategy in coordination with internal teams and clients
  • Lead multi-disciplinary consulting teams and manage engagements
  • Act as a senior advisor on regulatory risk and strategy

Required skills

  • 10+ years of experience in FERC ratemaking and regulatory matters
  • Experience in consulting, investor-owned utilities, or regulatory agencies
  • Expert witness experience in FERC proceedings
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or similar
  • Master's degree, MBA, JD or PhD preferred
  • Ability to operate independently and collaborate effectively in teams
  • Strong attention to detail and professional judgment
