Overview

The Principal Chief Engineer at Raytheon in Tucson, Arizona, will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams focusing on guidance and sensor technologies while ensuring technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met. This role requires extensive experience in systems engineering and involves significant collaboration across multiple departments within the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams through design, test, and verification phases.
  • Influence software and hardware architecture and establish processes.
  • Provide program leadership to integrated product teams and collaborative partners.
  • Mentor and guide team members across various engineering functions.
  • Manage and allocate system requirements across hardware and software components.
  • Conduct formal engineering reviews, including Configuration Review Boards.
  • Implement systems engineering principles throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Develop and review technical documentation and engineering plans.
  • Support program management activities including estimate at completion reviews and proposal costing.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in RF product design and integration.
  • Experience in analog, digital, and power electronics design.
  • Familiarity with circuit card assembly design and RF test integration.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance.
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
