Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Chief Engineer to lead the Proprietary Development Program in Tucson, AZ. This role requires strong leadership in managing cross-functional engineering teams focused on guidance and sensor technologies, ensuring adherence to technical and schedule objectives while influencing system architecture and processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams through design, test, and verification phases
  • Influence software and hardware architecture and establish processes
  • Provide program leadership to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Mentor and guide team members
  • Manage and allocate system requirements across hardware and software components
  • Lead formal engineering reviews
  • Implement systems engineering principles and practices
  • Develop and review technical documentation
  • Support programmatic focus areas including Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in RF product design and integration
  • Analog, digital, and power electronics design experience
  • Earned Value (EV) certification (Level 5 preferred)
  • Business acumen and communication skills
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance
