Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Chief Engineer to lead technical execution in the Advanced Effector Guidance Systems Department in Tucson, AZ. This role focuses on guidance and sensor technologies, requiring a strong engineering background and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams through design, testing, and verification phases.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams through design, test, and verification phases.
  • Ensure technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
  • Influence SW/HW architecture and establish processes.
  • Provide program leadership to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Mentor and guide team members.
  • Manage and allocate system requirements across hardware and software components.
  • Lead formal engineering reviews, including Configuration Review Boards.
  • Identify and manage critical items and technologies in product development.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including engineering plans and reports.
  • Support programmatic focus areas such as Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in RF product design and integration.
  • Understanding of requirement development and validation.
  • Experience in RF sub-systems and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Design.
  • Earned Value Management certification.
  • Ability to obtain Special Access Program access.
  • Strong communication skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to mentor and influence team members and peers.
