Overview

The Principal Associate in Capital Markets & Risk - SOX at Capital One is a role within the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Advisory team. This position focuses on delivering high-quality risk advisory services related to financial reporting, emphasizing risk management and control processes to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead risk management processes for multiple lines of business, including scoping and risk assessment.
  • Design and test controls, perform deficiency analysis, and report findings.
  • Communicate identified risks and recommended remediation actions to stakeholders.
  • Support technology and business transformations with control assessments.
  • Capture and report control performance metrics, assisting in stakeholder reporting.
  • Interpret and communicate program information to senior leadership.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, or Audit
  • Experience in Auditing and Control Evaluations
  • Experience with SOX controls
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
