Overview

Valor Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient care for veterans in Ithaca, New York. The role involves diagnosing and treating patients, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring high-quality service in line with Valor's commitment to exceptional care for those who have served in the military.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat veterans under the direction of a supervising physician.
  • Examine patients for symptoms of disorders and implement patient management plans.
  • Order and perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
  • Counsel patients on prescription medications and assess mental health issues.
  • Review and evaluate patients' records from external medical providers.
  • Complete clinical reminders and documentation within 24 hours of encounters.
  • Comply with all VA guidelines for clinical documentation and patient requests.
  • Provide excellent customer service to veterans and clinic visitors.
  • Participate in clinic outreach events to support enrollment initiatives.
  • Support new clinical or operational initiatives.

Required skills

  • MSN degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program, including preceptorship
  • Certification by applicable professional organization
  • Minimum one-year clinical experience as a CRNP in primary care or ambulatory care setting
  • Current and unrestricted license in the state of employment or any U.S. state
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS
  • Current unrestricted DEA registration
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Strong computer skills
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor
  • Strong service mentality
