Overview

Excel Personnel Inc. is seeking a Press Operator specialized in flexography for its client in the flexible packaging printing industry. The role involves operating printing presses, ensuring quality control, and maintaining efficient production schedules while collaborating closely with the production supervisor and other team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Organize daily set-ups on presses to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper supply of raw materials and complete control documents.
  • Start presses per procedures and conduct required quality control tests.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Resolve technical difficulties with the presses.
  • Complete quality control documents and conduct laboratory tests on the rolls.
  • Repair minor mechanical issues and report anomalies.
  • Train and supervise press assistants and operators.
  • Follow workplace procedures and safety regulations.
  • Assist all press operators technically and procedurally.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work on all presses and be knowledgeable of their accessories.

Required skills

  • Completed DES
  • Professional training in printing/flexography (asset)
  • Minimum 3 years as a flexographic press operator or relevant experience
  • Proficient in operating flexographic presses
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or plastics industries
  • Basic math skills
  • Mechanical skills related to machines
  • Ability to detect color nuances
  • Skills in ink mixing and plate mounting
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Teamwork aptitude
  • Proactive, resourceful, organized, and methodical individual
  • Ability to lift 50 to 60 pounds
