Overview

Join Sheridan as a Lead Print Production Technician (Press Operator) in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, and be part of a dynamic team in the printing industry. This role is essential for ensuring the production of high-quality printed materials, including scholarly journals, books, and magazines.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials
  • Perform quality control inspections for accuracy and consistency
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on printing equipment
  • Review job specifications to ensure correct processing and run sequence
  • Perform make-ready tasks, including hanging plates
  • Adjust tension and register to meet quality standards
  • Examine plates for imperfections and check operations during press runs
  • Make color corrections and press adjustments before production runs
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and coordinate with supervisors regarding production issues
  • Participate in special projects as assigned

Required skills

  • Experience operating printing press
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math operations
  • Knowledge of a variety of techniques, procedures, and safety requirements for press operation
  • Skill in complex manipulations and mechanical procedures for setup and maintenance
