Overview

Palo Alto Community Child Care is looking for qualified Preschool Teachers to join their team, working with children aged 2 years to kindergarten entry. The role focuses on creating a safe and nurturing environment, developing and implementing age-appropriate curricula, and maintaining strong communication with parents and caregivers.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
  • Assess children's progress and communicate with parents
  • Maintain a clean and organized center
  • Supervise children and promote their physical, cognitive, and social development
  • Encourage creativity and self-expression through various activities
  • Observe and document significant behaviors and incidents involving children
  • Foster cooperative behavior through group projects
  • Respond promptly to children's needs within the center and during excursions

Required skills

  • Completion of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Experience in a classroom setting with young children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff
  • Bilingual communication skills
  • Experience with Reggio Emilia and/or Play-Based philosophy
  • Technology integration in the classroom
