Overview

Palo Alto Community Child Care is looking for experienced Preschool Teachers to join their preschool programs. The role involves creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for children aged 2 years to kindergarten entry, while developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and engaging with parents and caregivers.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
  • Assess children's progress and communicate with parents
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Supervise children's activities to promote development
  • Encourage self-expression and appreciation of aesthetics
  • Observe and document children's behavior and health
  • Ensure safety and well-being of all children
  • Participate in cooperative teaching with other staff

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff
  • Familiarity with Reggio Emilia or Play-Based learning approaches
  • Experience with technology integration in the classroom
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Child Development Permit preferred
