Overview

Palo Alto Community Child Care is looking for an experienced Preschool Teacher to join their team. The role involves providing a safe and nurturing environment for children aged two years to kindergarten entry, developing and implementing curriculum, assessing children's progress, and communicating with parents and caregivers.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment for young children
  • Assess children's progress and communicate with parents
  • Supervise classroom activities to promote physical and social development
  • Observe and document children's behaviors and incidents
  • Encourage self-expression through singing, dancing, and art activities
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom

Required skills

  • Completion of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other teachers and staff
  • Child Development Permit (preferred)
  • Bilingual skills (preferred)
  • Experience with Reggio Emilia and Play-Based learning (preferred)
  • Technology integration in the classroom
