Overview

The Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. is seeking a Preschool Classroom Aid / CDA Specialist for its Danbury Early Learning Programs. This position assists lead teachers in managing classroom routines, implementing curriculum, and engaging with preschool and infant/toddler children aged 6 months to 5 years.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing classroom routines and curriculum
  • Support meals and related activities for preschool and infant/toddler children
  • Work under the direction of assigned Lead Teacher(s)
  • Perform core functions of the Head Start program
  • Assist in other tasks as needed

Required skills

  • Childcare experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills (email, word processing, internet navigation)
  • Bilingual skills (English, Spanish, Portuguese preferred)
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate or commitment to obtain CDA
  • Early Childhood Education Credits or degrees preferred
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
