Overview

The Y of Central Maryland is seeking a Preschool Assistant Director to support the overall operations of a preschool center. This role involves administrative duties, ensuring compliance with Maryland Office of Childcare regulations, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment for young children.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Preschool Director with daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with Y standards and childcare regulations
  • Interact with children, parents, and associates to resolve issues
  • Promote the health, welfare, and safety of enrolled children
  • Create an environment conducive to children's development
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and training events

Required skills

  • Childcare management experience in a preschool
  • High school diploma or associate's degree in early childhood (preferred)
  • 90-hour child care certification
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
