Overview

The Prepared Foods Team Leader Assistant at Giant Eagle provides leadership to team members through coaching and mentoring while overseeing various aspects of the prepared foods department. The role focuses on enhancing business growth through effective merchandising and fostering customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise prepared food team members to maintain production and efficiency
  • Assist in controlling operating expenses and achieve budgeted food and labor costs
  • Write schedules and work assignments for department team members
  • Organize and maintain food storage areas according to health and safety requirements
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation
  • Prepare food for customers, including cooking, frying, and grilling
  • Analyze customer satisfaction surveys and mystery shopper reports
  • Coach team members and promote their continuous development
  • Maintain accurate department records for audits
  • Suggestive selling and sampling products for customers
