Overview

Destination Cleveland is seeking a motivated PR/Communications Intern for Fall 2026 to assist with various projects in destination PR and communications. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry while promoting Cleveland and its attractions.

Key responsibilities

  • Update media fact sheets and website content regarding Cleveland in the News and Accolades
  • Develop descriptions for new attractions, hotels, and restaurants for news releases and itineraries
  • Track media coverage and maintain media logs
  • Assist in creating content for media pitches and talking points for interviews
  • Develop and maintain lists for local breweries, restaurants, and annual events
  • Support media familiarization trips and travel writer itineraries as needed

Required skills

  • Experience in communications-related internship or relevant coursework
  • Understanding of PR processes with media
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and team player attitude
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Cleveland and Northeast Ohio
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
