Job Description

Overview

As a Power Electronics Research Engineer at GE Vernova, you will play a key role in the research and development of cutting-edge power electronics technologies. Your focus will include system modeling, simulation, and the design and testing of power converters within a multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop new power electronics concepts and technologies
  • Conduct system modeling and simulation for power electronics
  • Design and test power converters and submodules
  • Characterize power electronics devices and design EMI filters
  • Communicate results through reports and presentations
  • Engage with governmental agencies and contribute to proposal efforts

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of experience in power electronics research and model simulation
  • Experience in developing and testing power converters and control solutions
  • Familiarity with DC grid concepts and energy storage
  • Knowledge of microgrids and grid integration of renewables
