Overview

Second Avenue Realty is seeking a Portfolio Accountant to join their team in Tampa, Florida. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with various business disciplines and the Executive Management team, emphasizing teamwork and a proactive approach to task execution in a dynamic work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare daily and monthly journal entries
  • Complete and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare month-end financial packages for clients and internal management
  • Review balance sheet and income statements for accuracy
  • Process new vendor requests and accounts payable invoices
  • Review postings for electronic payments and record closing proceeds from property sales
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting and financial statement preparation experience
  • Preferred experience in single-family or multi-family property management accounting
  • Experience with Propertyware and NetSuite
  • Intermediate Excel expertise
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and best-in-class customer service
