Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer for their Counter Sniper Team, which provides long-range observation and tactical support for protective details. Candidates may be eligible for a $75,000 recruitment incentive based on regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for the White House Complex, Vice President's Residence, Main Treasury Building, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Support Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign leader missions through travel.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Aged between 20 and 40 years (with exceptions for federal law enforcement veterans)
  • Firearm proficiency and the ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100, corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability within specified limits
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Completion of 12 weeks of CS Selection and Basic Training
  • 12 weeks of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and 17 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center
