Overview

The Police Officer role with the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key locations and individuals in Washington, DC. This position requires relocation to Washington, DC and offers a significant recruitment incentive for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, the Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign dignitary missions
  • Enforce protective responsibilities as mandated by federal regulations

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 (with exceptions for certain federal law enforcement service)
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Ability to meet hearing standards as specified
  • Completion of drug testing and training requirements
