Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to fulfill protective duties in Washington, D.C. Applicants may be eligible for a $75,000 recruitment incentive. The role requires candidates to be courageous, intelligent, and strong while supporting the agency's investigative and protective missions.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as defined under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at the time of application
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye
  • Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in specified ranges
  • Ability to pass drug tests and complete intensive training at FLETC and specialized training at James J. Rowley Training
