Job Description

Overview

As a Police Officer with the United States Secret Service, you will play a crucial role in providing protection for key locations and individuals in Washington, D.C., including the White House and foreign diplomatic missions. This position requires relocation to Washington, D.C., and offers a recruitment incentive of $75,000 for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce protective responsibilities as mandated by Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirement: at least 21 years old and under 40
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected and 20/20 corrected
  • Audiometric hearing ability meeting specified criteria
  • Ability to pass drug tests
  • Completion of intensive training at FLETC and specialized training at James J. Rowley Training Center
