Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer position with the United States Secret Service requires relocation to Washington, DC and focuses on providing protection for key government buildings and officials. Candidates may be eligible for a $75,000 recruitment incentive, reinforcing the commitment to building a strong and capable team dedicated to public safety and security.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign heads of state missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirements: at least 21 years old and under 40 at referral
  • Firearms proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Visual acuity and hearing requirements
  • Completion of drug tests
  • 12 weeks of training at FLETC and 17 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center
