Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to provide protection services primarily in Washington, DC. The role includes a $75,000 recruitment incentive for eligible applicants, and candidates are expected to demonstrate courage, intelligence, and physical fitness as they carry out their duties.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as specified under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Minimum age of 21 and under 40 at referral
  • Firearm proficiency
  • Good visual and auditory acuity
  • Ability to complete 12 weeks of training at FLETC and 17 weeks of specialized training
