Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to carry out protective assignments primarily in Washington, DC. The role includes providing security for high-profile locations and individuals, as well as enforcing protective responsibilities. A $75,000 recruitment incentive is offered for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of presidential and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirements (21 to under 40 years old)
  • Firearm proficiency
  • Uncorrected visual acuity no worse than 20/100 binocular and corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability meeting specific standards
  • Ability to pass drug tests
  • Completion of 12 weeks of training at FLETC and 17 weeks of specialized training
