Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to provide protection for key locations and officials, requiring relocation to Washington, DC. The role involves both law enforcement and protective duties, emphasizing the importance of courage and trustworthiness among team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at the time of application
  • Ability to carry and use a firearm
  • Maintaining firearm proficiency
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye
  • Hearing ability to meet specified standards
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Completion of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC)
