Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking Police Officers to perform protective and investigative duties, primarily in Washington, DC. Applicants may qualify for a $75,000 recruitment incentive and are expected to join a team that embodies courage, intelligence, and determination.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for the White House Complex, the Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign government missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as per federal regulations

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirement: at least 21 but under 40
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of 20/100 or better, corrected visual acuity of 20/20
  • Hearing ability within specified decibel limits
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Completion of 12 weeks of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and additional specialized training
