Overview

The Police Officer position with the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key locations such as The White House and other government sites in Washington, D.C. Candidates must be prepared to relocate to Washington, D.C. and may be eligible for a $75,000 recruitment incentive.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and other key locations.
  • Travel in support of missions for the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state.
  • Enforce protective responsibilities as mandated by law.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Minimum age of 21 and under 40 at referral
  • Firearms proficiency and maintenance
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability meeting specified standards
  • Ability to pass drug tests
  • Completion of intensive law enforcement training programs
