Overview

The Police Officer role at the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key government locations and officials in Washington, DC. Candidates must be willing to relocate for this position and may be eligible for a $75,000 recruitment incentive.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex and other key governmental locations
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A
  • Travel in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at the time of application
  • Ability to carry and use a firearm
  • Maintain firearm proficiency
  • Visual acuity of 20/100 binocular uncorrected and 20/20 corrected
  • Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in specified frequency ranges
  • Pass a drug test and comply with random drug testing
  • Complete extensive training at designated law enforcement training facilities
