Overview

The Police Officer position with the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for various high-profile locations and officials in Washington, D.C. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Washington, D.C. and may be eligible for a $75,000 recruitment incentive.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions.
  • Travel to support Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as outlined in federal law.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 years (exceptions apply)
  • Firearm proficiency
  • Visual acuity of 20/20 or better (corrected)
  • Hearing ability within specified decibel ranges
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Completion of intensive training at FLETC and specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center
