Overview

The Police Officer position at the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key government facilities and officials in Washington, DC. The role requires relocation to Washington, DC and comes with a potential $75,000 recruitment incentive for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex and other key locations
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign heads of state missions
  • Enforce protective responsibilities as mandated by federal law

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • At least 21 years old and under 40 at application
  • Firearm proficiency
  • 12 weeks of intensive training at FLETC
  • 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in specified frequencies
  • Submission to drug testing
