Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to provide protection for various high-profile locations and officials in Washington, D.C. This role requires relocation to the area and offers a $75,000 recruitment incentive for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and embassies in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of presidential and foreign dignitary missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to carry and use a firearm
  • Maintaining firearm proficiency
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye
  • Hearing ability within specified limits
  • Ability to pass drug testing
  • Complete intensive training at FLETC and specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center
