Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to provide protection for high-profile locations and individuals in Washington, DC. This role is crucial for enforcing protective responsibilities and involves intensive training and commitment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions.
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as outlined in Title 18, United States Code.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirements (21-40) with exceptions for federal law enforcement service
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100, corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability as specified
  • Ability to pass drug tests and background checks
  • Completion of intensive training at designated training centers
