Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer (Secret Service Police) position requires relocation to Washington, DC and offers a $75,000 recruitment incentive. Successful candidates will be part of a diverse team, tasked primarily with protection duties associated with significant national and diplomatic sites and individuals.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as per Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at time of application
  • Firearm proficiency
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 in each eye
  • Hearing level within specified decibel ranges
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Completion of 12 weeks of intensive training at FLETC and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Traini
