Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking Police Officers for the protective services role in Washington, DC. Candidates may receive a $75,000 recruitment incentive and will be tasked with ensuring the safety of major government locations and officials.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel to support Presidential and foreign heads of state missions
  • Enforce protective responsibilities as per Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at application, subject to exceptions
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Visual acuity of 20/100 binocular uncorrected, 20/20 corrected in each eye
  • Hearing ability within specified decibel limits
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Completion of intensive federal training programs
