Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer position with the United States Secret Service requires relocation to Washington, DC. This role involves providing protection for key government locations and officials, highlighting the importance of courage, intelligence, and integrity in duties related to national security.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
  • Enforce protective responsibilities as mandated under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • At least 21 years old at application and under 40 at referral
  • Firearms proficiency and maintenance
  • Visual acuity requirements
  • Hearing requirements
  • Ability to pass drug tests
  • Completion of intensive federal law enforcement training
