Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer who will be responsible for providing protection for the White House Complex, the Vice President's Residence, and other key locations in Washington, DC. This position requires relocation to Washington, DC and may include a $75,000 recruitment incentive for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for key government locations and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel in support of Presidential and high-profile missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirements (at least 21 years old and under 40 years old)
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Visual acuity requirements with specific standards
  • Hearing capabilities meeting specified standards
  • Ability to pass a drug test and submit to random drug testing
  • Completion of intensive training at FLETC and specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center
