Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer role with the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key government locations and dignitaries in Washington, DC. Applicants are considered for a $75,000 recruitment incentive and must be prepared for relocation to DC for this pivotal law enforcement position.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at referral
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye
  • Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in specified frequency ranges
  • Completion of drug tests and training at Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and specialized training center
