Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer position with the Secret Service entails protection duties primarily in Washington, D.C., and requires relocation to the area. Successful candidates will receive a $75,000 recruitment incentive and will join a team dedicated to safeguarding key government officials and locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as outlined under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 (with exceptions for federal law enforcement service)
  • Firearm proficiency and the ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity no worse than 20/100 and corrected 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability within specified decibel ranges
  • Ability to pass drug tests and undergo training
