Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking Police Officers who are willing to relocate to Washington, DC to provide protection for key locations such as The White House and foreign embassies. This role requires a commitment to the agency's mission of protective services and law enforcement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions.
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as per Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at application (with exceptions for prior federal law enforcement service)
  • Firearm proficiency and the ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular and corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability conforming to specified audiometric standards
  • Completion of drug tests before appointment and during service
  • Ability to complete 12 weeks of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and 17 weeks of specialized trai
